-I disagree, I don't feel that the use of e-cigs will lead to the addictive use of regular cigarettes. The reason I feel this way is because they don't have nicotine in them. I think that the FDA should regulate e-cigs the same as regular cigarettes because even though they aren't real it still has the concept of smoking and maybe if someone continuously smokes them they will start wanting something more stronger. “"These products are not approved by the FDA as smoking cessation devices," said society spokesman Gary Ewart”(13para) with this being said even though the e-cigs are really cigarettes they aren't being approved as them. This could cause disruptions in schools, laws, restaurants, and jobs I think it could affect our laws because we now have a “No smoking rule” in restaurants and if someone claims its not really a cigarette and could get into a lot of legal trouble. If it remains that the FDA does not regulate e-cigs, I feel as if more and more kids will start smoking the e-cigs then transfer to the real ones .Since they still have a traceable amount of cancer causing compounds the e-cigs can be just as addictive and cause some serious health problems. Some kids believe that the whole electronic part will prevent them the nicotine issue but in studies thats shown not to be true.
